I am certified to teach 7-12 life/earth science; all level physical education; English 1-8, and 6-12 as well as dual credit. I am also certified as a 1-8 self contained classroom teacher.
It is so exciting to be at Pewitt Junior High!
After serving as a graduate assistant in the athletic department at University of North Texas, I began my teaching career at Refugio High School in 1989. I’ve made stops at Fairfield Elementary, Edgewood High School, Royse City Middle School, Buffalo Junior High and High School, Fruitvale ISD, Grand Saline High School, and Pittsburg High School. I’ve taught junior high science, history, English and reading, 9-12 English as well as freshman composition and British literature for Trinity Valley Community College as an embedded faculty member at Fruitvale High School.
My husband and I have been married for almost 30 years! We have three daughters—Kaitlyn teaches at Pewitt Junior High; Meredith is an outreach director at TSTC; and Emma is a senior kinesiology major at UT Tyler. I am Sassy for three grand children: Tucker, Bo, and Caroline.
I like to spend lots of time with my family when I am not teaching. I like to make pickles and salsa, read, bake and check out all the water parks and beaches!
